RUMOR: Chloé Zhao To Direct Kevin Feige’s ‘Star Wars’ Film

With Marvel Studio’s Eternals lighting up the box-office, many are wondering what the creatives of the film have in store for us next. Well, according to a new rumor, Eternals writer/director Chloé Zhao will direct the Star Wars film Kevin Feige is producing.
This news should be taken with a huge grain of salt, as it isn’t a done deal as of yet, but One Take News has stated that Zhao is very close to signing onto the project. The film was announced in September of 2019, right before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker released, and since that point, the only update was that Loki creator Michael Waldron had signed on to write the script.

Zhao’s potential involvement shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Both Feige and Zhao have been vocal about how much they enjoyed their time together working on Eternals. Zhao has also expressed an interest in directing a Star Wars film recently while on the Eternals press tour.
No other details about the film are known at this time, but it is rumored to begin production in 2023.
