Vince Vaughn To Star In Apple TV’s Drama Series ‘Bad Monkey’

Vince Vaughn is an actor capable of continuously reinventing himself throughout the course of his career. With memorable comedic and dramatic roles under his belt, the actor will next turn his gaze upon Apple TV. As first reported by Deadline, Vaughn will headline a new drama series in the works for Apple TV+ titled Bad Monkey.
The series hails from the co-creator of the Emmy Award-winning series Ted Lasso, Bill Lawrence, who will write and executive produce. Warner Bros. Television will produce the series with Matt Tarses (Scrubs), Jeff Ingold (30 Rock), and Liza Katzer (Ted Lasso) also executive producing.

Based on the popular novel written by Carl Hiaasen and published in 2013, Bad Monkey follows its main character, Andrew Yancy. The one-time glorified detective is soon demoted to restaurant inspector following a mishap in South Florida. However, when a severed arm is mysterious found, Yancy is pulled back into the world of greed and corruption. Additionally, as the title suggests, a monkey comes into play.
With roles in classic films like Rudy and Swingers, Vince Vaughn created a new career for himself thanks to a bevy of comedies like The Wedding Crashers and The Internship. Moreover, Vaughn turned in a memorable performance in the second season of HBO’s True Detective. Most recently, Vaughn starred in the critically acclaimed horror flick Freaky, opposite Kathryn Newton. Up next, the actor joins Kristen Bell and Kirby Howell-Baptiste in the upcoming film Queenpins.
