One response to “Dylan O’Brien Joins Zoey Deutch In Hulu’s ‘Not Okay’”

  1. A dramatic comedy set in New York City, starring Dylan O’Brian and Zoey Deutch called Not Okay. If you have read the novel, Not Okay, you might have even pictured Dylan O’Brian and Zoey Deutch in the lead roles, but before you get too excited, no, this is not a movie adaptation of Brett Axel’s stellar, 2020 novel, Not Okay. This is a different dramatic comedy set in New York City named Not Okay.

This one is the story of a woman who pretends to take a trip to Paris in order to impress her neighbors. Oh! It is unfortunate that the makers chose to give their work the same name as a will known novel with some striking similarities, that is definitely going to confuse some people. But still, this is the plot isn’t original either. It is the same plot as another great work worthy of a movie adaptation: Pedro Pietri’s classic, 1974 play, The Masses Are Asses. Neither Brett Axel nor Pedro Pietri are given any credit on this movie. Everything we know about this movie so far is something stolen from a great work of modern literature that deserves to be made into a movie, but buying rights is so expensive, why not just swipe something from column A and something from column B and create your own derivative imitation? You can’t copyright a title or an idea, so go for it. Maybe no one will notice.

I wonder, when this movie comes out, if there will be a single original element, or if the entire work was put together by cutting and pasting other author’s works.
