Mark Wahlberg Reportedly In Talks For Future MCU Project

Yet another A-list star may be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Mark Wahlberg has had talks about a possible role in a future Marvel project.
Richtman’s post clarifies that Wahlberg was in talks with Marvel for a role months ago, so it remains uncertain if they led to anything. Considering Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have wrapped and are in the midst of filming, respectively, it seems likely any potential role would be much later in Phase 4.

Marvel Studios is well known for casting big-name stars for villainous roles, so it seems likely this may be the case with Wahlberg. Christian Bale is already signed on to star in Thor: Love and Thunder as the main villain, so it seems unlikely the former will join the cast. Based on this, perhaps the actor will pop up in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or the untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel. Additionally, it is possible Wahlberg could make an appearance in any number of the Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series.
