As more details surrounding Marvel Studios’ What If…? series on Disney+ have been revealed via leaked merchandise, fans’ excitement for the show has continued to grow. And now, a newly surfaced toy has revealed details about the return of a fan-favorite villain, Killmonger.
The toy which can be seen below features Killmonger in his Golden Jaguar suit. But what is really interesting is that the box art refers to him as “King Killmonger,” suggesting that T’Challa did not reclaim the throne in this alternate story, or perhaps he never had it in the first place. Additionally, the figure can be seen holding the severed head of an Ultron robot in his hand, suggesting some crossover with the storyline from Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Previously leaked art from the series revealed an alternate take on Ultron that appeared to feature the Infinity Stones. It is possible that art and this figure are for the same episode but for now, fans will have to speculate if that is the case. It seems possible multiple episodes could feature some overlap between different characters, but that has yet to be confirmed by previous marketing for the series.
The Disney+ series will feature the stars of the MCU returning to voice their iconic characters. Some notable names include Haley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Josh Brolin as Thanos.
