‘Star Wars: Andor’: Forest Whitaker To Reprise His Role As Saw Gerrera

It appears that another star from the Star Wars franchise will be returning for the upcoming Disney+ series. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Forest Whitaker will reprise his role as Saw Gerrera in Star Wars: Andor.
Whitaker made his live-action debut as the character in the critically acclaimed Rogue One film. The character played a pivotal role in the film, so it makes sense that Lucasfilms is having the star return to the role.

Star Wars: Andor is set to give a new insight to Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor, who first appeared alongside Gerrera in Rogue One. The series will give a new look into the character’s origin and his work with the Rebel Alliance.
Additionally, the cast of the upcoming series will include Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller (The Inheritance) as well. Moreover, iconic Star Wars characters like Grand Moff Tarkin, Mon Mothma, and Bail Organa will reportedly appear as well.
Rogue One debuted as the first Star Wars film to deviate from the franchise’s normal episodic nature. It featured a bevy of new characters and shed light on the rise of Darth Vader post-Revenge of the Sith. However, the film’s events ended with tragedy as the Empire crushed the opposition after they successfully completed their mission.
