The untitled Cassian Andor Disney+ series is reportedly expanding its cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Genevieve O’Reilly and Denise Gough have joined the show.
Currently, character details for Gough have not been revealed by O’Reilly will reprise her role as Mon Mothma. O’Reilly’s Mon Mothma, a politician who worked to oppose the Empire and found the Rebel Alliance, first appeared in Rogue One alongside Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor.
The series centers on Andor five years before the events of 2016’s Rogue One.
It was revealed on April 16 that Thor star Stellan Skarsgard joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
There is currently no start date for production, as the series has undergone some creative shifts. Rogue One co-writer Tony Gilroy is now signed on as showrunner for the series taking over for Stephen Schiff. Gilroy, along with Dan Gilroy, Beau Willimon, and Schiff, was already on the writing team, but it seems he will now have a much more significant role in the series.
In addition to serving as showrunner Gilroy will also direct the pilot and possibly a second episode of the series. Similar to The Mandalorian, Disney wants an array of directors to work on the show.
