‘Moonlight’ Star Trevante Rhodes To Portray Mike Tyson In Hulu’s ‘Iron Mike’ Series

The life and times of Mike Tyson is about to be told through a bevy of new projects focusing on the heavyweight boxer. With Jamie Foxx set to star as in a limited series in the works from Antoine Fuqua and Martin Scorsese, Hulu is also developing its own biopic series about The Baddest Man on the Planet. As first reported by Collider, Moonlight star Trevante Rhodes will portray Mike Tyson Hulu’s Iron Mike.
Margot Robbie is on board to executive produce the series alongside I, Tonya director Craig Gillespie. Iron Mike hails from screenwriter Steven Rogers (P.S. I Love You), who co-created the project in collaboration with Karin Gist (Camp Rock). Additionally, Trevante Rhodes will produce the series as well aside Tom Ackerley (Promising Young Woman), Bryan Unkeless (Bright), and Darin Friedman (Paper Man). Iron Mike will run for eight episodes with production beginning later this year.

Mike Tyson reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990 and won his first 19 professional fights by knockout. Tyson holds the record as the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title and was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles.
Trevante Rhodes is best known for his role in the Academy Award-winning film Moonlight. Additionally, the actor touts memorable roles in TV shows like Westworld and If Loving You Is Wrong. Most recently, the actor starred in Netflix’s Bird Box and the Academy Award-nominated The United States vs. Billie Holiday.
