Hawke is set to play a villain in the series, which has led some to theorize he could be playing Dracula. His look is also reminiscent of the character Bertrand Crawley, an ally and informant of Jake Lockley, the cab driver alter-ego of Moon Knight.
The actor has been nominated twice for his roles in 2002’s Training Day and 2015’s Boyhood, in addition to two nominations for his writing for 2005’s Before Sunrise and 2014’s Before Midnight. Most recently, Hawke starred alongside Anya Taylor-Joy in The Northman.
Jeremy Slater, known for his work on Netflix’s Umbrella Academy adaptation, is set to develop and write the Marvel Studios series. Moreover, Mohamed Diab (Clash), Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead (The Endless) will direct various episodes of Moon Knight as well.
