Stanley Tucci & David Tennant To Star In Netflix & BBC’s ‘Inside Man’

An exciting new project is in the works at BBC and Netflix is getting in on the fun. The streaming service has acquired the international distribution rights for a new series from Sherlock and Doctor Who executive producer Steven Moffat. As first reported by Deadline, Stanley Tucci and David Tennant will lead the project’s impressive ensemble cast.
The series, titled Inside Man, is a bit of a mystery at this time. Moffat is reportedly keeping most of the plot details extremely close to the chest. In fact, executives at both Netflix and BBC alike are actually in the dark about how the series will end. Spotlight star Stanley Tucci will tackle the starring role with David Tennant supporting. Moreover, they are joined by Dolly Wells (Bridget Jones’s Diary) and Lydia West (It’s A Sin) as well. Production will begin this summer.

However, per the initial report, the story will take the form of a four-part saga. The plot charts a prisoner on death row in the United States, a church vicar in England, and a math teacher trapped inside of a cellar. Somehow, the three very different individuals cross paths in an unexpected and dramatic way. Sherlock‘s Paul McGuigan will direct the series, furthering his relationship with both Stevan Moffat and BBC Studios. Additionally, Alex Mercer (Doctor Who), Sue Vertue (Mr. Bean), and Ben Irving (The Way Back) are on-board as executive producers as well.
Stanley Tucci recently turned in a critically acclaimed performance in the 2021 film Supernova. Furthermore, the Hunger Games star currently voices the sassy Bitsy Brandenham in Apple TV’s Central Park. Up next, Tucci will star in The King’s Man alongside Ralph Fiennes and Djimon Hounsou. Meanwhile, David Tennant is best known for his role as the tenth incarnation of The Doctor in Doctor Who. His role as The Purple Man in seasons one and two of Marvel’s Jessica Jones impressed an entirely new audience as well. Tennant’s upcoming roles include voice work in animated projects like The Loud House Movie and Ark: The Animated Series.
