Aaron Taylor-Johnson To Play A Relative Of Eggsy In ‘The King’s Man’

The upcoming Kingsman prequel will have a familial tie to the original two films. Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor Johnson will play a relative of Eggsy in The King’s Man, a source confirmed to Full Circle.
Taylor-Johnson signed onto the film late into pre-production, with no information released about his role. That was until IMDB listed his character as being Lee Unwin. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because Unwin is the last name of Taron Egerton’s Eggsy, the protagonist of both Kingsman: The Secret Service and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

With The King’s Man taking place during World War I, it’s possible Taylor-Johnson is playing the grandfather of Eggsy. Although, if you recall, Lee Unwin is also the name of Eggy’s father who died during a mission for the Kingsman in 1997. With director Matthew Vaughn describing this prequel as “very, very different,” don’t be surprised if The King’s Man pulls out some surprises with how it deals with the lineage of its characters.
