Jeff Goldblum & Michael Cera In Talks To Star In Wes Anderson’s Next Film
Wes Anderson is one of the most beloved and celebrated filmmakers of all time. With films like The Royal Tenenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and The Grand Budapest Hotel receiving critical and commercial acclaim, fans are always eager to see what Anderson will do next. As first reported by DiscussingFilm, Anderson is currently developing a new feature with Jeff Goldblum and Michael Cera in early negotiations for starring roles.
However, per the initial report, the talks are still very much in their infant stages with the possibility of either actor passing on the project. However, the notion of Goldblum, Cera, and Anderson collaborating on a film certainly has delightfully quirky connotations. At this time, plot details are being kept under wraps. However, the film is reportedly a romance story and will be live-action as opposed to stop-motion like a few other of Anderson’s notable films.

Wes Anderson will write, direct, and produce the currently untitled movie for Searchlight Pictures. Additionally, Steven M Rales (Isle of Dogs) and Jeremy Dawson (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) are on-board to produce as well. Anderson’s latest picture, The French Dispatch, is currently scheduled for release in July 2021.
Following breakthrough performances on TV in Arrested Development and in movies like Superbad, Michael Cera is a bona fide star. The actor led the cast for the cult-classic Scott Pilgrim vs. the World as well as steals scenes as Robin in The Lego Batman Movie. Up next, Cera will star alongside Lake Bell in the upcoming animated drama Cryptozoo. Moreover, Jeff Goldblum is one of the most recognizable faces in cinematic history. The legend recently hosted his own Disney+ series The World According to Jeff Goldblum and joined the MCU in Taika Waititi‘s Thor: Ragnarok. Up next, Goldblum will reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World: Dominion.
