Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder is currently preparing to start filming in Sydney. In new photos obtained from the project’s set, a familiar location appears to be teased, Gorr the God Butcher’s homeworld.
The images feature what appears to be a rugged landscape being created in Sydney’s Centennial Park. As fans of the comics will remember from Jason Aaron’s run on Thor, Gorr hails from a desert-like planet with similar structures. The location played a pivotal role in the comic, so it would make sense for the film to explore Gorr’s home and his backstory.

Additionally, Taika Waititi confirms the actress will also take on the mantle of Thor within the events of the film at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Chris Hemsworth will also return as the Son of Odin. Additionally, Ford v. Ferrari star Christian Bale will play Gorr the God Butcher in the film. Moreover, the film will reportedly feature the aforementioned Guardians of the Galaxy, Korg, and Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif as well.
