Channing Tatum Joins Sandra Bullock In Paramount’s ‘The Lost City Of D’
Recent years have seen Magic Mike star Channing Tatum take a step back from starring roles on the big screen. With a bevy of future projects on the books, the actor adds yet another film to his upcoming slate. As first reported by Deadline, Tatum will star alongside Oscar winner Sandra Bullock in an upcoming romantic comedy from Paramount Pictures.
Per the initial report, the rom-com will be titled The Lost City of D. Described as a Romancing The Stone-style feature, the plot follows a reclusive novelist, played by Bullock. As she embarks on a book tour with her cover model, portrayed by Tatum, the duo fall victim to a kidnapping attempt. The sudden twist of fate takes them on an adventure through a cutthroat jungle, as she sees that life can be far more romantic than anything she can ever write.
Aaron and Adam Nee (Band of Robbers) will direct The Lost City of D with a script by Dana Fox (The Wedding Date). The idea for the film hails from Seth Gordon (Baywatch), who will also serve as one of the movie’s producers. Moreover, Bullock will executive produce via her Fortis Films banner alongside Liza Chasin (Les Misérables).
Channing Tatum is one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood. The last time fans saw him on the big screen was 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle. In addition to this feature, Tatum will next star in Netflix’s Six Years. Moreover, Tatum will star in Bob the Musical for Disney and makes his directorial debut with the upcoming comedy film Dog.
Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock is the recipient of several awards, including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Best known for her dramatic turns in films like Gravity and Blind Side, the actress is hailed as one of the best of her generation. However, the actress often flexes her comedic chops with memorable turns in Miss Congeniality, The Heat, and Ocean’s 8. Up next, Bullock will star alongside Viola Davis and Rob Morgan in director Nora Fingscheidt’s latest film.
