John David Washington Joins Margot Robbie & Christian Bale In David O. Russell’s Next Film

Following one of the most talked-about starring roles of 2020, John David Washington continues his upward trajectory. Up next, as first reported by Variety, the multi-faceted actor will join the likes of Christian Bale and Margot Robbie in a yet-to-be-titled drama from celebrated director David O. Russell.
Washington steps into the role previously inhabited by Michal B. Jordan. When the film was first announced, Jordan stood beside Bale and Robbie in a starring role. However, per the initial report, Jordan is no longer attached. The film’s script is written by the O. Russell himself and will be released through Disney’s 20th Century Studios. However, no plot details are currently known.

The Silver Linings Playbook helmer is looking to begin production on his latest feature this January. Moreover, Matthew Budman (Joy) will board the picture as executive producer. Recently, Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki (Birdman) came aboard the project as cinematographer as well.
John David Washington earned a bevy of high acclaim following an impressive outing in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman. The star continues to impress following a leading role in Christopher Nolan’s time travel epic Tenet. Up next, Washington will star alongside Zendaya in the highly anticipated drama Malcolm & Marie. Additionally, he will star alongside Alicia Vikander in 2021’s Born to be Murdered. Moreover, Christian Bale will next play a villainous role in Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder while Margot Robbie will lead James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.
