Two actors who are arguably the best parts of their respective TV shows will join forces for an upcoming heist-thriller in the works at HBO Max. As first reported by THR, Stranger Things star David Harbour and Doom Patrol‘s Brendan Fraser will join an impressive A-list cast in the upcoming film No Sudden Move.
Fraser and Harbour will join a cast already inhabited by Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, Amy Seimetz, Jon Hamm, Ray Liotta, Bill Duke, Frankie Shaw, and Julia Fox. Newcomer Noah Jupe and the Emmy-nominated Kieran Culkin will appear in the film as well.
No Sudden Move, co–produced by HBO Max and Warner Bros., begins production this week in Detroit. The film features a script penned by Ed Solomon (Men In Black). Moreover, Ocean’s Eleven helmer Steven Soderbergh is on-board to direct the feature. The film’s plot will take place in 1955 Detroit and follow a group of small-time criminals. The ragtag group of home invaders is hired to steal what is presumably a simple document. However, following the plan’s miserable failure, the group searches for who hired them as they navigate a race-torn and rapidly changing city.
At one point, the film was titled The Kill Switch and boasted other big names like John Cena and George Clooney. However, following various stages of development, the picture will finally get underway with the new stacked ensemble.
David Harbour will next reprise his role as Hopper in season four of Netflix’s Stranger Things. Up next, the actor will appear as Red Guardian in Marvel’s Black Widow. Meanwhile, Brendan Fraser currently stars in the DC Universe series Doom Patrol as Robotman. The Mummy actor will next star in Dalibor Stach’s Behind the Curtain of Night.
