Halsey & ‘Euphoria’ Star Sydney Sweeney To Team Up For TV Series ‘The Player’s Table’

Four-time Billboard Music Award winner Halsey has spent the last several years wowing global audiences with her unique brand of charisma and incomparable singing voice. However, the singer will take another big step forward in her career as she looks to crossover to acting. As first reported by THR, Halsey, real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, will star alongside Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney for a new series titled The Player’s Table.
Based on the 2020 novel They Wish They Were Us by Jessica Goodman, the story follows a murder mystery set in a swanky prep school in Long Island, New York. Sweeney will star in the series as a high school senior named Jill Newman. She actively works to uncover the true events surrounding the death of her best friend, Shaila, three years prior. The plot takes a turn when Jill realizes that she and her fellow “players” in a secret society at the school may have had something to do with it. Halsey joins the series as a character named Rachel Calloway. A former “player” in her own right, Calloway distances herself from the wealthy lifestyle of Long Island after her younger brother is unjustly convicted of Shaila’s murder. Together, the two work to uncover the truth.
