Despite the discourse among moviegoers within the Star Wars community, many fans can agree that John Boyega’s Finn is one of the best additions to the universe. Up next, the actor will team with Netlfix for a new sci-fi feature titled They Cloned Tyrone. As first reported by THR, the Boyega-led cast will also feature Oscar winner Jamie Foxx and Teyonah Parris as well.
The highly anticipated picture will serve as the directorial debut for Creed 2 writer, Juel Taylor. Moreover, Taylor co-wrote the script alongside Tony Rettenmaier (The Light Thief). Taylor and Rettenmaier will produce the film as well with Charles D. King (Sorry to Bother You), Stephen “Dr.” Love (The Land), and Kim Roth (Tower Heist). Additionally, Poppy Hanks (Mudbound) and Mark R. Wright (Tigertail) are on-board as the film’s executive producers.
The film will reportedly be a creative cross between Friday and Get Out. The plot follows an unlikely trio of heroes as they investigate a series of eerie events in their neighborhood. Throughout the events of the thriller, the trio becomes aware of a conspiracy luring just beneath their feet. Boyega, Parris, and Foxx will likely share top billing and form an incredibly entertaining group on the big screen.
Last year, Foxx turned in an award-worthy performance alongside Michael B. Jordan in Just Mercy. Additionally, the Ray star will play the titular role in Todd McFarlane’s upcoming Spawn reboot. Up next, the actor will voice the main character in Pixar’s latest film Soul. In addition to They Cloned Tyrone, Boyega will next star alongside Olivia Cooke in Naked Singularity. The Star Wars star will also lead Steve McQueen’s upcoming BBC miniseries Small Axe. Meanwhile, Teyonah Parris is best known for her recurring role in the AMC drama series, Mad Men. Up next, the multitalented actress will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Monica Rambeau in WandaVision.
