Following the well-received first two installments, the Creed franchise will move forward with a third film. As first reported by THR, MGM Studios will enlist the talents of up-and-coming filmmaker Zach Baylin to pen the script for Creed 3.
Creed, directed by Ryan Coogler (Black Panther) and its subsequent sequel Creed II have grossed a combined $387 million at the worldwide box office. Additionally, they serve as the latest additions to the wildly popular Rocky film series. The series stars Michael B. Jordan as the son of legendary boxer Apollo Creed as he looks to continue his father’s legacy alongside his trainer Rocky Balboa, played by Sylvester Stallone, who starred in the original Rocky films.
However, production for the upcoming Creed 3 is currently in a state of unknown. The aforementioned Jordan has a full production slate. Next, he will star in the yet-to-be-titled David O. Russell movie and then move into Denzel Washington’s A Journal for Jordan.
Zach Baylin is best known for writing the script for King Richard. The upcoming 2020 film will star Will Smith and focus on the tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams and their father Richard.
