RUMOR: ‘Catwoman’ Series Starring Zoë Kravitz In Development At HBO Max

Last month, news that director Matt Reeves is developing a The Batman TV spinoff for HBO Max set in the same universe as the film surfaced. The news of the Gotham City PD series sent shockwaves throughout the industry as many speculated how much of an impact the Robert Pattinson-led film would have on the future of DC projects. Now, a new report from The Cinema Spot reveals that a new spinoff series might be in development as well. However, this series would focus on Catwoman.
As always, nothing bout the DCEU is confirmed until it is, so take this with a grain of salt. However, per the initial report, Zoë Kravitz is expected to reprise her role as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman from the upcoming Batman flick. Additionally, the rumor suggests Selina Kyle will not actually become the Gotham City Siren in The Batman. This means the series would serve as a sequel to the film. If this does come to fruition, it would seem likely Matt Reeves may have some involvement as well.

Created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, Catwoman first appeared in Batman #1 in 1940. Originally written as an adversary for Batman, Selina Kyle has become an antihero in recent years, often doing the wrong things for the right reasons. Catwoman has appeared several times in live-action, with the most notable being Michelle Pfeiffer in Batman Returns, Halle Berry in Catwoman, and Anne Hathaway in The Dark Knight Rises.
Zoë Kravitz is one of the brightest stars in Hollywood today. She has starred as Leta Lestrange in the Harry Potter spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and its 2018 sequel. Additionally, the actress youts lead roles in the HBO drama series Big Little Lies and the now-canceled Hulu romantic comedy series High Fidelity.
She will first appear as the antihero in The Batman. She joins the likes of Robert Pattinson, who will play Bruce Wayne/Batman while Jeffrey Wright will portray Commissioner Jim Gordon. Additionally, the anticipated feature will include Colin Farrell, Jayme Lawson, and Andy Serkis.
