‘Black Lightning’ Expected To Film Next Two Seasons Back-To-Back

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, much of Hollywood was put on hold, and future productions have been left in limbo. But as new safety procedures develop, plans have been announced for several projects, including some of the Arrowverse. According to Lance Ausfresser of the Black Lightning Facebook Group, there are talks of the series filming its next two seasons back-to-back.
Ausfresser also revealed recently that Doom Patrol was planning on filming its next two seasons in the same fashion. Given the delays that resulted from the pandemic, this new filming schedule could become commonplace for many projects to combat the uncertain future of productions.

Previously, it was confirmed that The Flash and other Vancouver-based The CW series would begin filming in late August, but it remains uncertain if that will be the case for Black Lightning. Unlike other Arrowverse series, Black Lightning is filmed in Atlanta, so it may enter production at a different date. The series also differs from the other shows because it typically has a smaller episode count, which would make filming back-to-back seasons easier.
