Another character from an animated Star Wars series will appear in The Mandalorian. According to Slash Film, Katee Sackhoff will portray the live-action version of Bo-Katan in the Disney+ series.
This is exciting for fans of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels because Sackhoff has been the voice of Bo-Katan since her first appearance. The 40-year-old actress most recently voiced the character in the final season of The Clone Wars on Disney+.
As of now, both Lucasfilm and Sackhoff’s reps have declined to comment; however, Slash Film states they have confirmed the story with multiple sources. According to their report, she filmed her scenes back In February before the shutdowns brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
Fans of the character will remember that in Star Wars Rebels Sabine Wren passed the infamous Darksaber over to Bo-Katan, the same weapon that was seen wielded by Moff Gideon in the season finale of The Mandalorian. So it seems very likely that the new season will reveal how Gideon acquired the saber.
It has been rumored that the new season of The Mandalorian will help to set up the Star Wars Rebels sequel series, and this new report further supports that. A recent report claims that in addition to Ahsoka, Sabine will also make her live-action debut as the two lay the groundwork for the rumored series. Now that yet another key character from the series is making her live-action debut, it gives some credence to that report.
