Michelle MacLaren In The Mix To Direct ‘Captain Marvel 2’

The search for a director to helm Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel 2 may be nearing its conclusion. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Michelle MacLaren is one of the names in the mix to direct the upcoming sequel.
In January, it was revealed that Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck would not return for the sequel. Since then, speculation has run rampant over who would handle Brie Larson’s billion-dollar heroine. Following the initial report that Boden and Fleck would not return, it was revealed that Marvel Studios was searching for a female director to replace them. Now, it seems one name the studio is considering has been revealed.
Richtman announced on his Patreon that one name he has heard is a possibility is MacLaren. The director is best known for her work on television, having directed episodes of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Better Call Saul. She is also signed on to make her theatrical debut with Chris Pratt’s Cowboy Ninja Viking.
