Josh Gad To Star In Roland Emmerich’s ‘Moonfall’

Director Roland Emmerich’s résumé includes a bevy of epic disaster films. In fact, 2019 saw the filmmaker direct and produce Midway, a World War II action flick with a large ensemble featuring Woody Harrelson, Darren Criss, and Luke Evans. Up next for Emmerich is a disaster-thriller titled Moonfall. As first reported by THR, Frozen 2 star Josh Gad will topline the cast.
With a script by Emmerich and his 2012 co-writer Harold Kloser, the film will focus on the moon being knocked out of orbit by a mysterious force. The impact causes the moon to go into a collision course with Earth. However, a ragtag team of experts go on an impossible mission to the surface of the moon and save all of humanity.

Josh Gad will appear in the film as KC Houseman. Per the initial report, Houseman is odd and unkempt. Additionally, the character is extremely intelligent although severely unorganized. Gad’s Houseman becomes one of the most important men in the world after correcting guessing what has truly happened to the moon.
Moreover, the film is expected to add a large ensemble cast of big-name actors. Additionally, Emmerich will independently produce the film through his Centropolis Entertainment production company. Up next for Gad is a role in Disney’s upcoming release Artemis Fowl. The actor will also star in a reboot of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and reprise his role of LeFou in a Beauty & The Beast Disney+ spinoff series.
