It was previously rumored that Marvel is looking to introduce Ghost Rider in the films, so it seems this report could be a new development in that story. It is very likely that the project will focus on the original version of the character, Johnny Blaze.
Nicolas Cage previously played Blaze in 2007’s Ghost Rider and 2011’s Spirit of Vengeance. The character also made a brief appearance in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.Â
Marvel Television was previously developing a series focused on Luna’s Robbie Reyes, but that project is no longer moving forward. It was reported that the project hit a creative roadblock, but many assumed that it was actually because Feige wanted to use the character.
Some fans have pushed for the character to appear in Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, given the film’s reported gothic inspiration but that remains to be confirmed.
