Marvel Studios Reportedly Developing ‘Squadron Supreme’ Project

Recently rumors have sprung up that the Squadron Supreme will appear in the upcoming Disney+ series Loki. Now, according to insider Daniel Richtman, a Squadron Supreme project is in development.
Created by Roy Thomas and John Buscema in 1971, The Squadron Supreme debuted in The Avengers #85. This version of the team was derived from an earlier villainous group, the Squadron Sinister. With core members Hyperion, Nighthawk, Doctor Spectrum, Power Princess, and the Whizzer inspired by DC characters, the team serves as a stand-in for the Justice League.
Richtman revealed on his Patreon that he has heard a project is in development.

Previous rumors suggested that a few members of the team would appear on Loki. Given this new information, Loki could serve as Marvel’s way of introducing fans of the MCU to the characters before the team earns the spotlight in their own project.
It is not yet known if this project is a film or Disney+ series. Marvel Studios has made it clear that the shows and films are very connected, so it is possible the group could be introduced on Disney+ before headlining their own movie.
