Thanks to the iconic Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh, Josh Peck has endeared himself to an entire generation for life. However, as first reported by The Wrap, the actor’s next big acting job will be on the Disney+ streaming service in the shape of a remake of Tom Hanks’ Turner and Hooch.
The film, which came out in 1989, was a variation of the buddy cop comedy genre. Polic investigator Scott Turner, played by Hanks, winds up working alongside a dog named Hooch to solve crimes. Following a series of traumatic events, the two bond throughout a bevy of close-calls and wild hijinks.
Peck will reportedly take on the role of Scott Turner. No word yet on who will portray his canine pal Hooch. The series was originally created by Burn Notice Matt Nix with 20th Century Fox TV. However, following the studio’s acquisition by Disney, the series is now in development at Disney+.
The series will be written by Nix with Josh Levy (Bones) on-board as executive producer.
