Margot Robbie/Tinkerbell

Margot Robbie Reportedly Eyed For Tinker Bell In Disney’s ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’

Margot Robbie is one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood. Since she burst on the scene in The Wolf of Wall Street, she has remained a consistent force in pop culture. As first, reported by The Illuminderi, Walt Disney Pictures has the Bombshell actress in mind for the role of Tinkerbell in its upcoming live-action Peter Pan and Wendy.

Per the initial report, Disney extended an offer to Robbie to appear in the film. However, the actress has yet to either accept or decline said offer.

Peter Pan & Wendy will begin principal photography in Canada this April. Directed by David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon), the film will be the latest live-action of a classic Disney animated film. Lowery, along with Toby Halbrooks (A Ghost Story) penned the film’s script. Disney hopes to strike overwhelming box office success again following the stellar performance of 2019’s The Lion King and Aladdin. Recent rumors suggest the film will stream exclusively on Disney+.

Tinker Bell first appeared in 1953’s original Peter Pan animated film. Since then, the character has gone on to star in her own Disney Fairies franchise consisting of copious direct-to-DVD films.

Up next for Robbie is the imminent release of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). the spinoff of 2016’s Suicide Squad will feature an all-female team of DC heroes taking on Ewan McGregor’s villainous Black Mask. Robbie’s Harley Quinn remains arguably the most important character for the future of the DCEU.
