Two of the MCU’s most powerful sorcerers will soon cross paths once again. According to the Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment Kevin Feige, Loki on Disney+ will include a direct tie-in with the sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange. Previously, the two characters shared a brief encounter during the events of 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok.
Speaking with Bloomberg during a piece on Disney CEO Bob Iger, Feige dropped the news somewhat nonchalantly. “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before. But it does,” Feige told the publication.
Previously, it was announced that WandaVision, the Disney+ series featuring The Scarlet Witch and The Vision, would provide a lead-in to the film. However, the addition of the God of Mischief would bring in every magic-wielding character at the MCU’s disposal. In the comics, Loki is no strange to magic, as he’s been crossing paths with sorcerers for years now.

Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as the Sorceror Supreme in the film. Additionally, Tom Hiddleston will once again play the menacing Loki in the upcoming series. Loki promises to explain what happened to the Asgardian post-Endgame, while Doctor Strange sequel is being hyped as Marvel’s “first horror movie” by its director Scott Derrickson.
Loki, along with WandaVision, will debut on the Disney+ streaming service in 2021. With Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness set for a May 2021 release, this means fans will likely get to view both shows a lot sooner than expected.
