‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ Star Adam Driver In Talks To Join Ridley Scott’s ‘Last Duel’

In July, it was revealed that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were set to star in and co-write the script for Ridley Scott’s latest project. However, as first reported by Variety, Adam Driver just might be in line to star alongside Damon instead.
With Affleck still attached to appear in the film in a supporting capacity, Driver will now assume the starring role. The film was co-written by Nicole Holofcener (Can you Ever Forgive Me?) and will be Scott’s latest film after 2017’s All the Money in the World. Killing Eve‘s Jodie Comer also has a supporting role.
The film will be produced by the new relationship between Disney and Fox. However, no production start date has been announced.

Check out the film’s description released back in July. “The story will focus on two best friends, Norman knight Jean de Carrouges and the squire Jacques Le Gris. Jean de Carraouges goes to war, but when he returns he accuses Le Gris of raping his wife, Margerite de Carrouges. No one believes the woman of her rape accusation. Which pushes Jean to come to his wife’s defense and appealing to the King of France to change his mind. The King then orders a duel between de Carrouges and Le Gris. If de Carrouges wins, his wife would be saved. If Le Gris wins, Margerite would then be burned to death for lying.”
Driver has been an extremely hot commodity in Hollywood as of late. His role as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise has taken him to new heights. He will appear in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Netflix’s Marriage Story, and Sony’s The Report by year’s end.
Additionally, Last Duel touts the return of Damon and Affleck writing a screenplay. The duo last penned Good Will Hunting, which took home the Oscar for Best Film in 1997.
