Cameron Gellman To Play Hourman’s Son On DC Universe’s ‘Stargirl’

Another legacy character will appear on Stargirl. According to insider Lance Ausfresser in the Stargirl Facebook group, Cameron Gellman will portray the second Hourman, Rick Tyler, on the DC Universe series.
Created by Roy Thomas and Dann Thomas, Rick Tyler first appeared in Infinity Inc. #20 in November of 1985. The son of the original Hourman, Rex Tyler, Rick picked up his father’s mantle during the Crisis on Infinite Earths in an attempt to save Beth Chapel, aka Doctor Midnight. Rex disproved of his son becoming Hourman because he knew the addictive effects of the Miraclo pills that granted him his abilities. Nevertheless, Rick took up the guise and ended up joining a team of second-generation heroes known as Infinity, Inc.
Playing Gellman’s father on the show will be S.W.A.T. actor Lou Ferrigno Jr., son of The Incredible Hulk‘s Lou Ferrigno and Carla Ferrigno. Stargirl will mark the second time Rex Tyler has appeared in live-action as Suits star Patrick J. Adams portrayed the character on The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Hailing from Geoff Johns, Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama will reimagine Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series.
