Ryan Reynolds To Star In ‘Everyday Parenting Tips’ From ‘Paddington’ Director Paul King

While the world eagerly awaits news regarding the future of Deadpool films, Ryan Reynolds continues to add projects to his already-stellar filmography. Additionally, the actor’s Maximum Effort production company has its hands in a bevy of movies in various stages of development. As first reported by Deadline, Reynolds will star in and produce a new monster comedy from Universal Pictures titled Everyday Parenting Tips.
Based on a satirical New Yorker short story with the same name by Simon Rich, the premise centers on a father who offers advice on what to say to a child who believes a monster is under their bed. However, a Monster Uprising is actually happening beneath their feet. Vile creatures named Gorgog the Annihilator, Ctharga the Eater of Souls, Drain of Ga are unleashed looking to wreak havoc.

The story’s original scribe Simon Rich will write the screenplay. Rich is the mind behind the highly anticipated HBO Max release An American Pickle, which also stemmed from one of his short stories. Moreover, Into The SpiderVerse producers, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, are on-board to produce the film through their first-look deal with Universal. Finally, Paddington helmer Paul King will direct the feature.
Up next for Reynolds is the upcoming film Free Guy, in theaters later this year. Additionally, Reynolds will co-star with Samuel L. Jackson in The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. Reynolds is also in talks to star in and produce a new film for Netflix based on the popular video game Dragon’s Lair.
