Taika Waititi Joins The Cast Of Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Free Guy’

In a reunion of 2011’s Green Lantern, Deadline is reporting that the director of Thor: Ragnarok and the star of Deadpool will be reuniting on screen in Shawn Levy’s Free Guy.
In Levy’s first film since 2014’s Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, Reynolds will portray a bank teller who discovers that he’s actually a player inside a video game. The film has also added Utkarsh Ambudkar (Pitch Perfect) to its ranks, which already includes Lil Rel, Jodie Comer, and Joe Kerry.
The screenplay was written by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn and the film will be produced by Reynolds, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter.
Waititi has been a rather busy man after it was teased that he would be playing a droid in Jon Favreau’s Star Wars series on Disney+ The Mandalorian. He is also been badgered on social media to re-team with Marvel Studios for another movie following the success of Thor: Ragnarok. Free Guy will bring Waititi and Reynolds together on-screen since for the first time since they were buddies during the events of Green Lantern.
