Taika Waititi’s Role In ‘The Mandalorian’ Potentially Revealed

While not much is known about the upcoming Star Wars series The Mandalorian, exclusive to Disney+, it looks as if director Jon Favreau just revealed that Taika Waititi has joined the cast.
Based on the above post, Waititi, the director of 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, is voicing IG-88 or a variation of the rogue, deadly masculine IG-series assassin droid who last appeared in The Empire Strikes Back.
It was previously reported that Waititi will be directing one of the first season’s episodes, and the working relationship between him and Favreau has always been a strong one professionally and personally.
Fans may notice that the last time Waititi voiced a character, Korg in Thor: Ragnarok, he became one of the most beloved characters in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is sure to join the ranks of memorable droids in the Star Wars universe, including C-3PO and K-2SO.
