‘Superman: Legacy’: María Gabriela De Faría Cast As The Engineer

With the SAG-AFTRA strike in the rearview, Hollywood is finally back in gear, which means casting news is back. First up is an exciting addition to the cast of James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy. According to Deadline, María Gabriela De Faría has joined the project as The Engineer.
Created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch in 1999, Angela Spica made her debut in The Authority #1. The second individual to bear the mantle of The Engineer, she took on the role after the death of the original. She has control over liquid machinery in her body, which allows her to fly and create different technological devices at will.
De Faría is best known for her role in Lionsgate’s The Exorcism of God, written and directed by Alejandro Hidalgo. Additionally, she has appeared in the television series Animal Control and The Moodys.
James Gunn will write and direct the feature. Superman: Legacy will kick off the rebooted DCU for Warner Bros and share little to no connections with the preceding DCEU. DC Studios hopes to have Superman: Legacy filming in early 2024, in time for a July 11, 2025, release.
