Werner Herzog Reportedly In Talks For A Role In ‘Wonder Man’

The upcoming Wonder Man series on Disney+ is looking to tap some significant talent. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Werner Herzog is in talks for a role in the Marvel Studios’ show starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
Created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Don Heck in 1964, Wonder Man debuted in The Avengers #9. Simon Williams was initially introduced as a villain with ionic powers. Eventually, the character was reformed and even went on to join the Avengers. In the comics, Wonder Man’s brain pattern was copied to create the mental template for Vision.

No details were revealed about Herzog’s potential role in the film. Herzog is a pioneer of German filmmaking and a celebrated director, screenwriter, and actor. However, he is also no stranger to Disney+ projects, having appeared in the first season of The Mandalorian.
Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, will executive produce the series, while Andrew Guest (Community and Brooklyn Nine-Nine) will serve as head writer. The project is part of Cretton’s overall deal with Marvel Studios he signed after Shang-Chi.
