Marvel Studios’ ‘What If…?’ May End With Season 3

Marvel Studios’ first foray into animation, What If…? was quite popular with fans, but it may not be an ongoing project for the studio. According to insider Daniel Richtman, the series will end with season 3.
The Disney+ animated series explores potential universes in the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Multiverse and shows what could have been. The first season featured different takes on several MCU films, including Iron Man, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Doctor Strange, and many more. As for the upcoming second season, it will feature a number of new stories, such as one focused on Hela, a story of Odin vs. Wenwu and the Ten Rings, Captain Carter meeting the Winter Soldier, an adaptation of the 1602 comic, and an episode about Tony Stark on Sakaar meeting Valkyrie and the Hulk.

It makes sense that the series would end with season 3 as the MCU’s Multiverse Saga will presumably end with Phase 6. This should mean that the studio will move away from other universes, which would leave no room for further what if storylines.
