‘Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun Boards Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts’ In Key Role

The next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is underway, and one of its biggest films is filling out its cast. According to Deadline, The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun has joined Thunderbolts in a key role that will span multiple movies.
Yeun joins an already stacked cast that includes characters like Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). Harrison Ford will also appear as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, talking over for the late William Hurt.
Of course, Yeun is most well-known for his role as Glenn in The Walking Dead. However, the Oscar-nominated actor has also appeared in projects like The Legend of Korra, Nope and Prime Video’s Invincible.

Created by Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley in 1997, the Thunderbolts debuted in The Incredible Hulk #449. Originally presented as a new team of superheroes to replace the Avengers, it was revealed that they were actually the supervillain group, the Masters of Evil, in disguise. Over time, the members would redeem themselves and eventually go through different iterations with various new iterations.
