Taylor Swift To Make Feature Directorial Debut For Searchlight Pictures

Taylor Swift is undeniably one of the biggest stars in the world right now. Following the release of her latest album, Midnights, the multitalented performer is looking to further develop her extensive crossover appeal with a film project. As first reported by Variety, Swift will make her feature directorial debut for a movie in the works at Searchlight Pictures.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter is no stranger to the director’s chair after she helmed several of her music videos, including All Too Well: The Short Film, which has already earned her a bevy of awards. However, further details surrounding Swift’s upcoming film, including its plot, cast, and production window, are being kept under wraps for the time being.

In a joint statement accompanying the initial report, Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield express their excitement to work with Swift on the film.
“Taylor is a once-in-a-generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey,” they said.
Taylor Swift is an 11-time Grammy winner and the only female artist to win the Grammy for album of the year three different times. However, Swift is no stranger to the big screen. She touts roles in films like The Lorax, Cats, Valentine’s Day, and, most recently, David O. Russell’s Amsterdam. Up next for the popstar is a record-breaking, Ticketmaster-shattering world tour titled The Eras Tour.
