Production on Disney+’s highly anticipated Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is underway, and the first look at the show has surfaced online. The leaked image features a glimpse of Walker Scobell on set in his Camp Half-Blood shirt as the titular hero.
Based on Rick Riordan’s New York Times Best Selling series, the books follow Percy Jackson, the demigod son of Poseidon. The first book in the franchise focuses on Percy discovering his godly parentage as he takes refuge in Camp Half-Blood. There he meets other demigod children and takes on ancient monsters as he searches for Zeus’ missing lightning bolt.
Riordan and Jon Steinberg wrote the pilot for the series, with James Bobin set to direct. Steinberg and Dan Shotz are set to oversee the series and serve as executive producers alongside Bobin, Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson, and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, and D.J. Goldberg.
