Marvel Studios has finally found a director to tackle the highly anticipated fourth installment in the Captain America franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Julius Onah has been tapped to helm the film.
The film will take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson taking over as Captain America. Following the events of the Disney+ series, Wilson finally accepted the shield and took on the mantle once held by Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.
The Nigerian-American filmmaker Onah is best known for his work on 2018’s The Cloverfield Paradox. He recently directed the 2019 film Luce starring Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer, and Tim Roth.
Not much in terms of story is known about Captain America 4. Malcolm Spellman, creator and head writer of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is penning the script with Dalan Musson, who served as a staff writer on the show.
