‘Invisible Man’ Director Leigh Whannell To Helm ‘Green Hornet And Kato’

It appears that Universal has finally found a director to helm The Green Hornet and Kato. According to Deadline, Invisible Man‘s Leigh Whannell is in negotiations to direct the film.
The Green Hornet began as an early radio series before being developed into movie serials and the 1966 television series featuring Bruce Lee as Kato. The series follows Britt Reid, the owner of The Daily Sentinel, who uses his sources and technology to take out the criminal underworld with his partner Kato. A 2011 reboot was produced by Sony, starring Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, and Cameron Diaz.

Deadline reports the studio has been meeting with directors for the past couple of weeks, but Whannell has had the edge since he entered the conversation. Universal is reportedly eager to work with him again after the critical and financial success of the Invisible Man.
David Koepp wrote the script for the film, and the studio is set to fast-track the project to pre-production once a deal is closed. As of now, no actors have been announced to star in the project.
