Destin Daniel Cretton Developing ‘Wonder Man’ Series For Marvel

Marvel Studios is planning on introducing a new hero to the MCU. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Wonder Man series from Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest is in development.
Created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Don Heck in 1964, Wonder Man debuted in The Avengers #9. Simon Williams was initially introduced as a villain with ionic powers. Eventually, the character was reformed and even went on to join the Avengers. In the comics, it was also Wonder Man, whose brain pattern was copied to create the mental template for Vision.

Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, will executive produce the series, while Guest (Community and Brooklyn Nine-Nine) will serve as head writer. The project is part of Cretton’s overall deal with Marvel Studios he signed after Shang-Chi.
Development on Wonder Man is still in the early stages, but the series may begin filming in 2023. Beyond Cretton and Guest, the rest of the creative team is still a mystery. Additionally, no casting prospects have been announced.
