Ray Stevenson Tapped To Play A Villain In ‘Ahsoka’

Lucasfilm and Disney have tapped another star to join the cast of their next Star Wars series Ahsoka. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Ray Stevenson has signed on to appear in the show.
Stevenson joins the series star Rosario Dawson who plays the titular Ahsoka Tano. The series will focus on the former Jedi Knight’s journey to find Grand Admiral Thrawn, a former Empire commander, and longstanding adversary.

It is not yet clear who Stevenson is playing, but THR claims he will be a villain in the series. His character will also be an admiral however, he will not be Thrawn. This is also the actor’s second foray into a galaxy far, far away as he voiced Gar Saxon in Star Wars Rebels and The Clone Wars. In addition to his Star Wars roles, he has portrayed Volstagg in the Thor films, Frank Castle in Punisher: War Zone, and Blackbeard in Black Sails.
Star Wars: Ahsoka hails from writer Dave Filoni, who will executive produce the series alongside Jon Favreau. Lucasfilm is financing the latest Star Wars live-action series with Disney+ handling distribution. Additionally, production on the series is slated to begin in the next few months.
