Rooney Mara To Portray Audrey Hepburn In Luca Guadagnino’s Biopic For Apple TV+

Audrey Hepburn is one of the most prolific names in Hollywood history. Her name is synonymous with cinema with 40+ years of work. Now, her life will be immortalized via that very same medium. As first reported by Deadline, an Audrey Hepburn biopic is in the works at Apple TV+ with some incredible names attached.
Per the initial report, Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino will helm the upcoming feature. Additionally, Guadagnino has recruited Oscar nominee Rooney Mara to embody the legend in his film. Mara will serve as an executive producer for the film as well. She joins Apple Studios heads Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht who will produce for the distributing streaming service. Michael Mitnick (The Current War) will write the feature.

Audrey Hepburn was a British actress and humanitarian. Following roles in classic movies like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and My Fair Lady, she is one of few to have earned Academy, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Awards. Later on in life, Hepburn received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of her work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. The world widely regards her as one of the most influential actresses of all time.
Rooney Mara will step into rather large shoes when she embodies a cinematic icon. However, she touts her own success as well. Mara is a two-time Oscar nominee thanks to her incredible work in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Carol. Moreover, the actress recently appeared alongside Bradley Cooper in 2021’s Nightmare Alley. Up next, Mara joins Frances McDormand and Ben Whishaw in Sarah Polley’s Women Talking movie adaptation.
