‘Ms. Marvel’ Promo Art Offers Best Look Yet At Character’s New Powers

New promotional material from Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ production, Ms. Marvel, has been released. The art has offered a fresh look at the character’s costume and her new power set.
Created by G. Willow Wilson, Sana Amanat, Stephen Wacker, Adrian Alphona, and Jamie McKelvie, the character debuted in 2013’s Captain Marvel #14. Khan, a Pakistani American from New Jersey, comes across powers that allow her to have the ability to stretch her body and change her shape. She is also the first Muslim superhero to star in her own titular comic book series. In the comics, Khan is an Inhuman, a race of altered humans experimented on by the Kree.

Based on the art above, Ms. Marvel’s powers will be more energy-based than in the comics. While previously, the young heroine could grow her body to new shapes and sizes, the MCU version of the character will create constructs. It remains to be seen if her origins will also change for the small screen so for now, fans will have to speculate what is in store for Ms. Marvel.
Hailing from head writer Bisha K. Ali the series will introduce Kamala Khan to the MCU. Ms. Marvel is one of many series Marvel Studios is developing for Disney+ to introduce new characters into the MCU, with the other shows being She-Hulk and Moon Knight. Following their Disney+ debuts, the characters will reportedly move into films and appear alongside other heroes.
