‘The Sandman’: First Look At Gwendoline Christie As Lucifer Revealed

DC has offered up a new look at their upcoming Netflix adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman. The new image has revealed the first look at actress Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer.
Created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg, Lucifer debuted in 1989’s The Sandman #4. An adaptation of the biblical Lucifer, the character played an important role in the comic after vacating Hell and retiring to Earth. The character would eventually get his own spin-off series detailing his adventures on Earth and other realms. Tom Ellis previously played him in the Netflix series Lucifer.

The Sandman series was given an 11 episode order from Warner Bros. and Netflix. Gaiman executive produced with David S. Goyer and writer/showrunner Allan Heinberg. Production on the series was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which luckily gave the creative team time to perfect the scripts.
