As Legends of Tomorrow gets closer and closer to a major milestone with its 100th episode, an old friend is returning to commemorate the event. As first reported by Deadline, Wentworth Miller will return to reprise his Arrowverse role Captain Cold in the episode.
Per the initial report, Legends of Tomorrow‘s 100th episode will be a retrospective special. The crew aboard the Waverider will revisit the show’s past events through the eyes of newcomer Amy Louise Pemberton’s human version of the AI Gideon. Additionally, the show’s leading lady Caity Lotz will direct the 100th episode. The two join Matt Ryan, Tala Ashe, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez, Nick Zano, and Dominic Purcell in the episode’s cast.
Wentworth Miller debuted as Captain Cold in season one of The Flash. He immediately became a fan favorite and reprised the role through seasons two and three before moving over to Legends of Tomorrow. Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino, Captain Cold made his first appearance in Showcase #8 in June 1957. The villain possesses a ‘cold gun’ that allows him to freeze objects to absolute zero temperatures.
Wentworth Miller rose to prominence following his starring role in the Fox series Prison Break, for which he received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama in 2005. The actor also touts roles in hit TV shows like Batwoman, Law & Order: SVU, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Recently, the multi-talented actor revealed he had been diagnosed with autism.
