‘Daredevil’s Marc Jobst To Reportedly Helm Live-Action ‘One Piece’ Pilot

Progress on Netflix’s live-action One Piece series appears to be moving along smoothly. According to Muphy’s Multiverse, Daredevil‘s Marc Jobst has been tapped to direct the show’s pilot episode.
First published in 1997, One Piece is written and illustrated by Eichiro Oda. The series is still in print today and has spawned a massive media franchise, including an anime series that first aired in 1999, a number of films, and several video games. In 2021 One Piece became the best-selling manga series in history, with 490 million copies in circulation.
Steve Maeda, known for his work on Lost and Day Break, previously joined the project as showrunner alongside Luke Cage writer Matt Owens. Jobst has worked with Owens in the past as the former directed an episode of Luke Cage written by the latter.
In addition to Daredevil, Jobst has worked on several other Netflix productions, including The Punisher and The Witcher. Most recently, he helmed episodes for the Millarworld series Jupiter’s Legacy.
