Kristen Wiig became a household name during her time on Saturday Night Live. Since leaving the show, the comedic actress has continually churned memorable roles on the big screen. Up next, as first reported by Deadline, Wiig will lead the cast of MGM’s adaptation of the hit novel The Husbands.
From New York Times best-selling author Chandler Baker, The Husbands follows an overworked mother and lawyer who is house hunting in the suburbs. After she meets a group of incredibly successful women, she notices that they all have overtly supportive husbands. However, after she agrees to take on the legal case of the death of one of her new neighbor’s husbands, she risks exposing her own marital secrets in the process.
Kristen Wiig will star in the film as well as serve as an executive producer. Moreover, the aforementioned Baker produce as well along with Plan B Entertainment with MGM handling distribution.
The last few months have proven to be remarkable for Kristen Wiig. Back in December, Wiig portrayed the DC supervillain Cheetah in Wonder Woman 1984. Most recently, Wiig pulled double duty in the universally beloved comedy Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar. Up next, Wiig will appear opposite Toby Jones and Maggie Smith in Netflix’s A Boy Called Christmas.
